After Dark 4.0 Screensavers work just fine on Windows 10 (Windows 11 too actually). However, the older screensavers "After Dark Classic" or "3.0" do not. The reason for the difference is that After Dark 4.0 screensavers are 32 bit and the earlier ones are 16 bit. Microsoft has disabled 16 bit support by default pretty much since Windows 7.

My Acer laptop running Windows 10 has a very annoying feature: when running on battery, the LCD backlight dims gradually when displaying a dark screen and brightens gradually when displaying light screen. This is especially annoying when switching between my IDE (which is dark and pleasant to the eyes) and a webpage.

The issue occurs and is most noticeable when you go from a dark window to a light window. The contrast gets blown out, and the display slowly adjusts the backlight to normalize the contrast. I have a dark wallpaper in Windows 10, so an example of this happens whenever I'm on the desktop and open Chrome or the Google homepage, which is mostly white.

I then seem to have only two choices: rebooting or working from a remote desktop connection, which works fine. It did happen every time I tried last week.
28 de ene. de 2015 · For the last few days, my screen goes black after a few minutes of inactivity. My PC isn't going in stand-by, nor is the screen. As soon as I move my mouse or press a key on my keyboard, it just goes back to normal. I have checked W7's power management, the screen itself and my graphics card. Nothing is wrong with them.
