Keita's story. Abraham M. Keita, or Keita for short, was born during Liberia’s brutal civil war. His father, a driver for a humanitarian organization, was killed in an ambush when Keita was only five years old. Keita grew up in extreme poverty with his mother and siblings in West Point, the largest slum of Liberia’s capital, Monrovia.

IN 1998, Abraham Keita was born in Westpoint, the largest slum of the Liberian capital, Monrovia. Civil war broke out when he was only one year old. When he was five, his father was shot which left him with his mother to fight poverty, disease, and violence. Now a 17 year old, he fights for all children.
Abraham M. Keita (b. 2000) is a Liberian rights activist and campaigner for justice. Starting only when he was about 7 years old, his work focuses on violence against children. He is known mainly for fighting against sexual violence and demanding justice for its victims.
