Zoe Buckman Biography. Using sculpture, photography, and neon, multidisciplinary artist Zoë Buckman investigates feminism, identity, and cultural norms in modern society. Zoë Buckman was born in Hackney, East London. She graduated from The International Center of Photography, New York in 2009 and was awarded an Art Matters Grant in 2017.
Artist Zoe Buckman is known for how she addresses feminism, the maternal experience, and the role and strength of women in her practice. Buckman’s works are strong, yet fragile—arresting (like Champ ), beautiful, and elegant. In “Every Curve” and “Present Life” she’s incorporated text through embroidery or neon.

Zoe Buckman. Camera and Electrical Department: Trust. Zoë Buckman was born in Hackney, East London on September 13, 1985. She is a multi-disciplinary artist working in sculpture, photography, embroidery and installation. Her work explores themes of feminism, mortality and equality. In 2015, Buckman is an Artist in Residence at Mana Contemporary.
