Yoav Ruiz-Feingold. Alex Haddad. Jerry Witunsky. Atheist is an American death metal band from Florida, founded in 1987 by the vocalist and rhythm guitarist Kelly Shaefer, lead guitarist Rand Burkey, bassist Roger Patterson and drummer Steve Flynn. [3]
Yoav Ruiz-Feingold (Atheist, Graviton, Till The Dirt) joined as singer in late 2017, while bassist Matias Salas joined in 2022. They’ve not stopped working since the release of their debut album, Centuries of Lies (2018), that established a strong social criticism mixed with the fury of progressive thrash.
