Goal aside, he was incredible at the back, making several goal-saving tackles, blocks, and headers, the most poignant of which were when he stooped and put his body on the line to nod the ball over before Dunk inevitably hit the back of the net and his incredible late block on Trossard to spare Abdoulay Doucoure’s blushes.

In the past when we’ve struggled desperately on the pitch (I’m thinking ‘94 and ‘98) we have at least retained our dignity and kept our reputation as a great club and a knowledgeable fanbase intact. What we saw yesterday was kopite-esque.
22 de jul. de 2024 · Big difference of course is he didn’t come with a £22m (Gomez) and £25m (Mina) transfer fee too. Think people get hung up on nominal weekly salaries rather than whole contract outlay. Don’t see a problem paying a decent player ‘£120k per week’ on a 4 or 5 year contract as it’s ‘only’ £24m over the entire 4y term.

Look at JP Gbamin, Andre Gomes, Cenk Tosun, Allan, Yerry Mina, Davy Klaassen, Oumar Niasse. £155m spent and about £10m recouped. Bad scouting. Plus, they're all older than the bracket I'm talking about. Ashley Young was really poor.

One of my best friends lives in the Wirral and gave up his Toffees season ticket last year we always have a good chat about Everton and Cherries performance. Sadly Everton have been very poor for a few seasons and it comes as no surprise AFCB got the win yesterday.
