Tras la falta de éxito de los LPs “With Their New Face On” (1968), “Letters From Edith” (1969) y “Heavies” (1969), y de los singles “After Tea” y “Short Change”, la Spencer Davis Group dejó de existir, trasladándose Spencer Davis a los Estados Unidos, en donde proyectó la grabación de un LP en solitario antes de trabajar como A&R y regresar a los escenarios.
8 de abr. de 2021 · The Spencer Davis Group was an English R&B/beat band from Birmingham, fronted by teenage singer–keyboardist Steve Winwood.Signed to Fontana, they released three albums during 1965–66 comprised mostly of blues and soul covers. Though the band was democratic, they made guitarist/singer Spencer Davis their namesake because he was the only member willing to field journalists.
The Spencer Davis Group's first three studio albums weren't released in the US and Canada. Instead, the first two albums released there were Gimme Some Lovin' and I'm a Man in 1967, both of which compiled tracks from the three studio albums.
