Jeff Beck's '76 guitar instrumental album, the formula here is 2 parts rock, 1 part Jazz, 1 part funk. Some very nice guitar tones and playing by maestro Beck. Great effort by Jan Hammer for some mesmerizing synth solos. Highlights are "Led Boots", "Goodbye Porkpie Hat", and "Come Dancing". Mastered hot, much louder than any other record I have.
Jeff Beck's celebrated 1976 album sounds like the delinquent cousin of the 1975 classic "Blow By Blow", taking the same, sinuous Jazz Funk of the earlier effort and adding a few amplitudes of energy and power. The more relaxed vibe of its predecessor is missed, but the extra kick of adrenalin makes it a fair exchange.
