The Willem de Kooning Academy is an international, leading academy for bachelor's and master's degree courses in Media, Art, Design, Leisure and Education. It offers contemporary and cutting edge art courses that complement changing, international practice and prepare students for different professional contexts and roles.
Willem de Kooning was born on April 24, 1904, into a working class family in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Driven by an acutely perceptive mind, a strong work ethic, and persistent self doubt – coupled with the determination to achieve – the charismatic de Kooning became one of America’s and the twentieth century’s most influential artists.
The WdKA is an international, leading academy for bachelor's and master's degree courses in Media, Art, Design, Leisure and Education. It offers programmes in fine art, graphic design, lifestyle transformation, interior architecture and media design, with a focus on research and innovation.
