Willem De Kooning (Rotterdam, 1904 - East Hampton, EEUU, 1997) Pintor estadounidense de origen holandés. Junto a Jackson Pollock, es el artista más destacado del expresionismo abstracto estadounidense. Tras cursar estudios de arte en la Academia de Rotterdam, viajó a Estados Unidos en 1926 y se estableció en la ciudad de Nueva York.
