Thin White Rope was an American rock band associated with the desert rock and Paisley Underground subgenres, fronted by vocalist Guy Kyser. The band released five albums. Origins. The band was formed in Davis, California, during a period spanning 1981 and 1982.

When Worlds Collide and Spoor were both released after the band split up so Kyser could dedicate himself to a career in botany (no joke: the guy’s got a graduate degree!). The albums overlap to some extent, but both possess worthwhile individual highlights.
