Henry Threadgill (born February 15, 1944) is an American composer, saxophonist and flautist. He came to prominence in the 1970s leading ensembles rooted in jazz but with unusual instrumentation and often incorporating other genres of music.

Henry Threadgill (born February 15, 1944, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.) is an American improviser, composer, and bandleader, an important figure in free jazz in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Threadgill studied at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago and Governors State University, University Park, Illinois.
