By the spring of 1941, Ernest Tubb had seen six releases on Decca, none of them good sellers, and Decca was on the point of dropping him. He'd moved on to Fort Worth, but his wife, Elaine, had left him, and pacing back-and-forth in his rooming house one night he wrote Walking The Floor Over You.
