A classic horror-ish Australian film is Wake in Fright (1971) where a schoolteacher gets stranded in an outback town and goes kangaroo hunting. Most recently Snowtown and Nitram are great, and I consider them horror in a loose sense. I'm also vaguely aware of Wolf Creek, which I tried once but didn't gel with. I should give it another shot.
