Voivod is a Canadian heavy metal band from Jonquière, Quebec (now Saguenay, Quebec). The original line-up consisted of vocalist Denis "Snake" Bélanger , guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour , drummer Michel "Away" Langevin and bassist Jean-Yves "Blacky" Thériault .
Sus miembros son originarios del barrio de Jonquière en la ciudad de Saguenay, Quebec. Evolucionaron de un temprano speed metal y thrash metal a la posterior inclusión de tintes progresivos y técnicos de jazz fusión, su estilo único e innovador los ha llevado a ser una banda muy influyente pero igualmente desconocida.
