Vittorio De Sica 1962. Vittorio De Sica (* 7.Juli 1901 in Sora, Italien; † 13. November 1974 in Neuilly-sur-Seine bei Paris) war ein italienischer Schauspieler und Filmregisseur des Neorealismus; ab 1968 war er auch französischer Staatsbürger. Sein Film Fahrraddiebe aus dem Jahr 1948 gilt unter Filmkritikern als einer der besten Filme aller Zeiten.
Life. De Sica was born in Rome, the second son of Italian director Vittorio De Sica and Spanish actress María Mercader.His first cousin once removed was Ramón Mercader, the murderer of Leon Trotsky. After attending Liceo classico in Rome, where he had Carlo Verdone as his deskmate, De Sica worked in a hotel in Venezuela, where he began his career as an artist.
