Vin Diesel nació el 18 de julio de 1967 en Alameda, California, Estados Unidos. Hijo de la astróloga Delora Sherleen Vincent, de ascendencia alemana, inglesa y escocesa. Tuvo tres hermanos, Tim, Samantha y el gemelo Paul Vincent. No conoció a su padre biológico y fue criado por su padrastro Irving H. Vicent, director e instructor de teatro.
