Viking Crown was a side project started by heavy metal musician Phil Anselmo in the mid-1990s. The first Viking Crown release was an EP recorded in 1994 titled Unorthodox Steps of Ritual which featured Anselmo, credited as Anton Crowley, on guitar, bass, drums and vocals.

17 de jun. de 2010 · Viking Crown was Anselmo's venture into the extreme harsh forms of early minimalist black metal. Almost ambient at times, the deliberately poorly produced songs were at times quite disturbing and evil sounding, bleak soundscapes of harsh noise, quite characteristic of the early Norwegian bands such as Darkthrone.

Viking Crown was a black metal project in the Darkthrone vein formed by Phil Anselmo of Pantera. Their debut album was also the first release on Killjoy's (Necrophagia) Baphomet Records. Phil decided to put the project to sleep after the third release. Members: Frank Pucci, Opal Anselmo, Phil Anselmo.
