Given recording limitations of the 70s and 80s, Lynne thought the songs needed some retouching.
Afterglow is the third box set compilation by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). It was released in 1990 with liner notes by music critic and editor Ira Robbins of Trouser Press. Jeff Lynne, fundador y miembro de Electric Light Orchestra, comentó a la revista musical Rolling Stone que la idea de grabar Mr. Blue Sky surgió cuando escuchó las grabaciones originales del grupo y pensó que podía obtener un mejor resultado dada su larga carrera como productor musical.
