Valerie Simpson (born August 26, 1946, The Bronx, New York, USA) is an American songwriter and singer. Along with her husband Nickolas Ashford formed a songwriting-production team, often credited on releases as Ashford & Simpson. Inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.
