19 de sept. de 2017 · It’s never a good sign when a group lazily title an album after how many they’ve released, with recent proof being Wavves’ own ‘V’ or Bloc Party’s ‘Four’, and that lack of ideas runs right through this record. Lumbering opener ‘Hologram’ sets the tone, and its murky, repetitive beds of synth form the basis of much of the record.

22 de sept. de 2017 · The Horrors’ V is a fantastic slice of British neo-psychedelia – funky, tightly written and drawing from a wide range of influences. ‘Press Enter to Exit’ is full of slow-motion dub reggae beats, ‘Weighed Down’ is a psychedelic ballad that recalls Screamadelica, while closer ‘Something to Remember Me By’ has an airy, deep house groove.

It’s an album that confirms them as one of the most consistently surprising, most artistically sophisticated, simply greatest rock bands working today.
