Uppingham School. Uppingham School is a boarding school co-educational, one of the oldest private schools in the UK, was founded in 1584. The school sets as its mission not only the provision of quality education, but also the disclosure of the talents of each student, whether it be musical, acting or sports achievements.
For boarders, when choosing a house, parents and pupils may initially consider geographic factors. Some may wish to be close to the ‘hub’ of the School in the centre of Uppingham; others might like to be a short distance away. Parents usually visit up to five houses before coming to a decision.
