The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music offers a diverse 2023-2024 season that traverses musical worlds. The new 2023-24 concerts and events season at the School of Music reinvents modern styles, elevates discussion of the craft, and celebrates musical traditions around the globe.
The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, located on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles, is “the first school of music to be established in the University of California system.” Established in 2007 under the purview of the UCLA School of Arts and Architecture and the UCLA Division of Humanities, the UC Board of Regents formally voted in January 2016 to establish the school.
The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music is home to both exceptionally accomplished faculty and intellectually and artistically inquisitive students, and is supported by extraordinary alumni who are internationally acclaimed artists, scholars and influencers in the diverse world of music.
The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music offers a broad and encompassing approach to the study of music, aspiring to the highest level of musical performance, analysis, pedagogy, and creativity within a wide range of traditions.

Admissions Decision. You will receive a single admissions decision in spring that applies to both UCLA and the Herb Alpert School of Music from UCLA Undergraduate Admissions. The School of Music does not notify applicants separately from the university. UCLA Application Status.
