Joe Lynn Turner es un cantante, guitarrista, escritor y productor musical estadounidense nacido el 2 de agosto de 1951 en Hackensack, Nueva Jersey, EE. UU. Es conocido por haber sido vocalista de hard rock y heavy metal en las bandas Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force y Deep Purple.
The brief tour that followed the release of the album included a concert in Leningrad, which was recorded and then released as Trial by Fire (1989). Later that year he left the band. Deep Purple. Turner was asked to join both Bad Company and Foreigner, but opted to join Deep Purple. Turner recorded one album, Slaves and Masters (1990).
He sang on the studio album "Odyssey", and "Trial By Fire - Live In Leningrad". In December 1989 after Gillan had been fired (and others had been considered), Turner was asked to join Deep Purple, and sang on the "Slaves And Masters" album and tour before being replaced by Ian Gillan in August 1992.

In the winter of 1989, Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple needed to find a lead singer to replace Ian Gillan. Several high profile vocalists were considered.
The subsequent tour spawned Malmsteen's first live album Trial by Fire: Live in Leningrad, which featured bassist Barry Dunaway. [9] . The band's lineup changed dramatically in late 1989, as Jens Johansson joined Dio and Turner joined Deep Purple. [10] .
