Tony Hatch. Anthony Peter Hatch OBE (born 30 June 1939) is an English composer for musical theatre and television. He is also a songwriter, pianist, arranger and producer. Early life and early career. Hatch was born in Pinner, Middlesex.

He wrote and produced the classic Downtown for Petula Clark, and also worked with artists like Lonnie Donegan, The Searchers and Paul McCartney.
