Although it initially sold well, Tonight was poorly received by critics, and in later years Bowie distanced himself from the album. The recording of Tonight began less than five months after Bowie’s longest and most successful tour to date.

On sound of this record Bowie didn't manage it. Bowie's performances are weak and boring. Most of songs here are mid covers.
