Tonbridge occupies an extensive site of about 150 acres in north Tonbridge. The current main buildings of the School date from the second half of the nineteenth century, but there has been much further building in more recent years, including the magnificent restoration, completed in 1995, of the Edwardian Chapel, which had been severely damaged by fire.
The School has seven boarding Houses and five day Houses, each with a complement of about 65 boys. The House system at Tonbridge retains a traditional strength and encourages the loyalty which grows from security within a close-knit community of manageable size. Tonbridge School. Tonbridge School is the definition of an all-excellent, ever-busy boys boarding school. The boys are encouraged to go for both depth and breadth in their education. This leads them to achieve an amazing 80% A-grades at A-Levels in 2023, as well as excelling at sports (rugby is huge!), drama, music and the arts.
