Thomas Richard ”Tommy” Bolin (1. elokuuta 1951 Sioux City – 4. joulukuuta 1976 Miami) oli yhdysvaltalainen rock- ja fuusiojazzmuusikko.Bolin oli yksi lukuisista Jimi Hendrixin manttelinperijänä pidetyistä kitaravirtuooseista. At this point it’s unclear that Bolin knew Deep Purple had broken up. In May he played a show at Ebbets Field.

Tommy was a quick study and I am sure he nailed it right away. What makes this recording special in my mind is the feeling of spontaneity that permeates the album. It’s complicated music that feels almost improvised. Tommy was a master of staying in the moment and playing what was the perfect thing at the perfect time.
