I personally think it’s like a burnt meat flavor. Licorice for me is “low” on the back of the tongue and curves “up” towards the tip of my tongue. Burnt ends or any charred red meat seems to be “high” on the tip and only curves “down” toward the back of my tongue. Together they’d make kind of a rounded rhomboid taste profile.
