  1. Tim Cronin. About Me. I am currently an Associate Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT, in the department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences (EAPS). My group combines theory and idealized numerical modeling experiments to understand the dynamics of Earth's atmosphere and the stability of the climate system.

  2. Monster Magnet is an American rock band, founded in Red Bank, New Jersey in 1989 by Dave Wyndorf (vocals and guitar), John McBain (guitar) and Tim Cronin (vocals and drums). The band has since gone through several lineup changes, leaving Wyndorf as the only constant member.

  3. Research Overview. My research group studies convection, radiation, and clouds. We combine theory and idealized numerical modeling experiments to understand the stability of Earth's climate, and explore possible climates of other worlds. A (non-exhaustive) list of my research interests is below.

  4. 3 de mar. de 2022 · The Executive Committee of the Corporation has approved the promotion of Tim Cronin to Associate Professor Without Tenure effective July 1, 2022. A climate scientist, Cronin’s research focuses on convection, radiation, and clouds to create numerical modeling experiments that help us understand the stability of the Earth’s climate.

  5. 460 views 11 months ago. On this episode of Aftershocks, Matt sits down with ex-drummer/vocalist and original MONSTER MAGNET member Tim Cronin to talk about the band's double-vinyl release 'Test ...

  6. I generally teach 12.003: Introduction to Atmosphere, Ocean, and Climate Dynamics in the fall (taught Fall 2017-2020, 2022-2023) and 12.315/12.815: Atmospheric Radiation and Convection in the spring (taught Spring 2018-2020, 2023, and Fall 2016). 12.003 provides a general introduction to climate for undergrads, and 12.315/12.815 goes into much ...

  7. Tim Cronin is an Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Science in Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences at MIT. The focus of his research is on the role of regional-scale atmospheric dynamics, radiative transfer, and coupled surface-atmosphere interactions in the climate system.
