Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok, the destruction of his home-world and the end of Asgardian civilization, at the hands of a powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela.
Thor, facing Hela, loses an eye and then has a vision of Odin that helps him realize only Ragnarok can stop Hela. Odin also tells Thor that he is the God of Thunder and that his powers are not reliant on the Hammer. While Hela is distracted, Loki locates Surtur's crown and places it in the Eternal Flame.
