The James Gang achieved success with their first two albums, Yer’ Album (1970) and Funk #49 (1970), which both reached the top 40 of the Billboard 200 chart. The band’s next album, Thirds (1971), was their commercial peak, reaching the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart and spawning the hit singles “Walk Away” and “Tend My Garden”.

The album was released in 1971. The song “Midnight Man” opened side two of the record. The song was written by Joe Walsh, who also handled the lead vocals on the track.

5 de dic. de 2019 · It seems James Gang wanted to write a hit song, play with an orchestra and change the world all on the same album. They succeed on one of those fronts, but I feel like the orchestrated works here are a step back from what they already achieved on “The Bomber” and “Ashes the Rain and I.”

Die James Gang ist eine Band, die auch heute noch besser klingt als viele neue Bands, die die Musik der 70er "nachspielen"! Wer gute Rockmusik mag sollte sich die ersten 3 Scheiben der JG anhören. Und Joe Walsh ist ja zumindest für "Eingeweihte" keine unbekannter Gitarrist! Anhören und Spass haben!
