  1. Theodore William John Schurch (5 May 1918 – 4 January 1946) was a British soldier who was executed under the Treachery Act 1940 after the end of the Second World War. He was the last person to be executed in Britain for an offence other than murder.

  7. Theodore Schurch was hanged at Pentonville Prison on the 4th of January 1946 by Albert Pierrepoint, assisted by Alex Riley. He became the last person to die for a crime other than murder in the UK. Schurchs name appears on a memorial at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey as he was a serving British soldier.
