The Waterboys are a British folk rock band formed in London in 1983 by Scottish musician and songwriter Mike Scott. The band's membership, past and present, has been composed mainly of musicians from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England.
14 de dic. de 2010 · The Waterboys release a new single today called GLASTONBURY FAYRE, a grooving, vibing monster in which Mike's lyric weaves together the histories of the festival and the Waterboys' performances. It was produced by Mike and Brother Paul and specially rush-released for the build-up to the festival which happens next week.

The Waterboys is the debut studio album by the Waterboys, released by Ensign Records in July 1983. The album was recorded in several studio sessions between December 1981 and November 1982. Allmusic describes the sound of the album as "part Van Morrison, part U2".. The album cover is a photograph of lead singer Mike Scott by Panny Charrington and designed by Stephanie Nash.
