3 de ene. de 2014 · Hey reddit people, I just saw 'The Spectacular Now' and have done quite a bit of reading into it. The thing that bothers me is the ending. Most of the review sites that I've read sees Shailene Woodley's character Aimee, smiling at Sutter (Miles Teller). The look on her face, in my opinion is not very optimistic about their relationship at all.
30 de may. de 2015 · The Spectacular Now is a seemingly simple movie about a teen who wants to make his ex-girlfriend jealous and in the process gets drunk. If that's how you saw this movie, well, you wouldn't exactly be wrong; that is, essentially, the basic plot of the film.

You see him at his lowest of lows and it's at that point where the film is at its most affecting. It's not intended to be a character redemption story for Sutter.

For all you movie fans out there, A24 is showing “The Spectacular Now” at this billboard on August 17th at 8pm. TIL that actor Miles Teller survived a car crash in which the car flipped eight times. He went on to star in 5 movies that involved car crashes, including Whiplash, The Spectacular Now, and Bleed For This.
28 de ene. de 2014 · She's presented as the standard "nice girl" ideal, which seems to say that she's something to strive towards, without recognizing how dangerous that is. She immediately forgives someone who's pretty much directly responsible for her getting run over by a car. That's not okay.
