The Soul Stirrers were an American gospel music group that pioneered the quartet style of gospel and influenced soul, doo wop, and Motown. Founded in 1926 by Roy Crain, they toured and recorded for over eighty years, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
