11 de ago. de 1997 · The Sonora Pine was an American indie-rock band formed in New York City in 1994 by Tara Jane O'Neil (vocals, guitar) and Sean Meadows (vocals, guitar). The duo soon added Samara Lubelski (violin) and then drummer Kevin Coutlas to the group. The band released their first album in 1996.
Indeed, most critics placed the Sonora Pine’s music in between the orchestrated sensibility of Rachel’s and the angular math rock of Rodan and June of 44. Meadows subsequently departed the group, reducing them to a trio; in his absence, their music lost much of its rock flavor, growing even subtler and quieter.
