Hace 4 días · Ornette Coleman / The Shape Of Jazz To Come - 日々JAZZ★. 邦題『ジャズ来るべきもの』。 1959年5月録音。 今更ながら思うが大胆なタイトル。 オーネット・コールマン自身が、このタイトルを付けたとは到底思えない。 彼は自分がやりたかった音楽をやったに過ぎないはずだ。 LPのライナーノーツでは、「完全な名盤ならぬ名盤としてジャズ史に残るべき不朽の問題作である」と粟村政昭氏が意味不明な形で締め括っている。 「完全な名盤ならぬ名盤＝不完全な名盤」とは？ 「不朽の問題作＝駄作」ということか？ リリース直後の文章なら分からなくはないが、10年以上経ってから書いている。 ジャズの歴史をむやみに引きずってきた評論家こそが「不朽の問題」。
