The Nightfly is the debut solo studio album by American singer-songwriter Donald Fagen. Produced by Gary Katz, it was released October 1, 1982, by Warner Bros. Records. Fagen is best known for his work in the group Steely Dan, with whom he enjoyed a successful career since the 1970s.

The Nightfly is a jazz-influenced slice of pop/rock that recalls the adolescent dream of being a late-night radio DJ. It is the first solo album by the Steely Dan co-founder, released in 1982. The song lyrics and the album title are both autobiographical references to his musical and personal identity crisis.
