The Move were a British rock band formed in December 1965. They scored nine top 20 UK singles in five years, but were among the most popular British bands not to find any real success in the United States. Although bassist-vocalist Chris "Ace" Kefford was the original leader, for most of their career the Move was led by guitarist, singer and songwriter Roy Wood.

The Move. The Move was een van de leidende Britse rockbands van de jaren 60 van de twintigste eeuw. De band scoorde negen Top 20-hitsingles in het Verenigd Koninkrijk in vijf jaar, behaalde geen succes in de Verenigde Staten en scoorde met Flowers In The Rain in Nederland op 5. Drie andere singles bereikten in Nederland de hitparade.
The Move geriet darüber in den Hintergrund und wurde 1972 nach Veröffentlichung der letzten Single California Man aufgelöst. Roy Wood trennte sich allerdings schon nach der ersten LP wieder vom Electric Light Orchestra und übernahm die vertraglichen Verpflichtungen von The Move mit der Gruppe Wizzard, bei der auch Rick Price wieder mitspielte.
