The Knife Feels Like Justice is the debut album by American musician Brian Setzer, released in 1986 on the EMI America record label. In contrast to the rockabilly sound of his earlier band Stray Cats , this album emphasizes a roots rock sound, in the style of one of his major influences, John Cougar Mellencamp . [1]

The Knife Feels Like Justice was produced by Don Gehman, who also oversees Mellencamp’s records.

Bobby's Back, The Knife Feels Like Justice are the two standout songs. Steve Van Zandt co-wrote "Maria". Kenny Aronoff, Benmont Tench and Steve Jordan help make this album sound polished. Don Gehman's production work gave the album the Heartland sound he may have been aiming for.
