Unlike the formation of other all-star groups such as CSNY, ELP and Blind Faith, The Jones Gang came together as a fluke when Jones assembled a band to play for a charity show. “You couldn’t throw a band like this together and form a so called ‘super group’, which we are not, even though everyone is well known” says Jones.

Kenneth Thomas Jones (born 16 September 1948) is an English drummer best known for his work in the groups Small Faces, Faces and the Who. Jones was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Small Faces/Faces. [1]
A band which would eventually became The Jones Gang. As the drummer with The Small Faces, Faces and The Who, Kenney Jones has been at the heart of three of the biggest bands ever to have come out of the UK.
