Their unique and innovative approach to heavy-sounding blues was a major influence on popular music in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The first Jeff Beck Group was formed in the U.K. in 1967, consisting of Jeff Beck guitar, Rod Stewart vocals, Ron Wood bass, and Aynsley Dunbar drums.
The Jeff Beck Group was formed by Jeff Beck in London in January 1967 after his departure from The Yardbirds in November 1966. Despite a constantly changing lineup, which at one time included vocalist Rod Stewart, guitarist Ronnie Wood, and pianist Nicky Hopkins, the group's unique approach to blues and rock had a lasting impact on popular music.
