19 de oct. de 2023 · The Great Green Wall is a project by 11 African countries to combat land degradation and increase arable land in the Sahel region. It uses an integrated approach that includes agroforestry, sustainable development, and biodiversity conservation.
The GGW initiative’s ambition is to restore 100 million hectares of currently degraded land; sequester 250 million tons of carbon and create 10 million green jobs by 2030. This will help communities living along the Wall to grow: one of humanity’s most precious natural assets: fertile land.
