The movie manages to combine the emotional weight of the fourth film — which centers on Dom’s grief over Letty’s death — with the nonstop, oversize, thrill-a-minute action of Fast Five. This blend succeeds in making Fast Six an actual, honest-to-God good film. Not just good for a Fast and Furious film, not just good for an action movie.
And that's really this FAST & FURIOUS in a nutshell: it looks good, but it rarely recaptures the feverish, manic insanity of the last one, which was pretty much *all* feverish, manic insanity. There are a couple good sequences and Luke Evans is maybe the best villain the series has ever had, but it might also be both the stupidest AND the most complex FAST & FURIOUS yet.
