It`s only been about twenty years since people started asking for a compilation of the best of early Whitesnake. Having had the late 80`s big hits repackaged numerous times, it is nothing short of justice to have this collection of British blues rock nuggets on one CD, with none of the American sounding metal of later years here to act as a crutch (hence the Union Jack cover).

Even in the early years, Whitesnake weren't without their problems. Their lyrics have always been the worst kind of misogynistic bollocks, and that is often where people lose their rag with the band. The thing was, back in their early years, you really couldn't take anything away from them musically, they were just a tight rocking band, which is all they needed to be.
