About The Distillers. The Distillers came to be when Aussie vocalist Brody Dalle teamed up with guitarist Rose Mazzola, bassist Kim Chi, and drummer Matt Young in L.A. in 1998, nailing together a street-punk sound that resonated with misfit kids in the SoCal scene. They signed to Epitaph imprint Hellcat, releasing a self-titled debut in 2000.
