The Dead (conocida como Dublineses (Los muertos) en España, Desde ahora y para siempre en Hispanoamérica, y Los muertos en Argentina) es una película de 1987 dirigida por John Huston. Es la adaptación cinematográfica del relato « Los muertos », perteneciente a la obra Dublineses , de James Joyce .
Sinopsis. Un hombre de cincuenta y cuatro años sale de una cárcel en la provincia de Corrientes. Lo único que quiere es llegar hasta donde está su hija, que vive en un lugar perdido rodeado de agua y selva. Para llegar hasta donde está su familia deberá atravesar un largo trayecto de agua en una canoa.
