The Buckinghams disbanded in 1970, but reformed in 1980. The band's original lineup included Carl Giammarese (lead guitar and vocals), Nick Fortuna (bass), Dennis Miccolis (keyboards), ("Jon-Jon") John Poulos (drums), Curtis Bachman (vocals), and Dennis Tufano (vocals). Bachman departed after the band's first single.
I recently spoke with Dennis Tufano, the man whose golden voice rocketed all those Buckinghams hits to the top of the charts. He discussed his days with the group, what led to their precipitous fall and dissolution, and how his career today has developed in ways he probably wouldn’t have imagined in 1967.

The world was introduced to The Buckinghams with their #1 single “Kind Of A Drag”. It was on the U.S.A. Records label from Chicago, just like the band. The single became #1 on February 18th, 1967, and stayed there for two weeks.
