Naar het personage Jason Bourne uit de eerdere drie films (en Robert Ludlums boekenreeks) wordt alleen verwezen en verder heeft de film weinig gemeen met het gelijknamige boek uit 2004 van Eric Van Lustbader .

The Bourne Legacy aneb takhle děti, takhle vypadá vykastrovaný akční film. Mimo faktu, že tento film vznikl a má v názvu "Bourne", jsou právě nudné akční scény hlavním problémem tohoto (zbytečného, přiznejme si to) snímku. Teď pozor, neříkám, že je film zas tak špatný.
