Hace 5 días · Invasion of the bodysnatchers has a more complex narrative, as to hook the audience who want to know what the reason was for Dr. Miles’ hysteria at the beginning of the film in the hospital. However, Spielberg keeps the editing very simplistic in E.T as to cater for the young target audience and make the film easier for them to understand.
Hace 5 días · Planet of Evil has its positives (Jaeger’s always good value, nice filming on the jungle set) but has generally always left me a bit cold. Quite bland crew and ship sets, Tom feeling a bit detached. Definitely prefer the Who versions of Invasion of the Bodysnatchers and The Mummy than this ‘homage’ to Forbidden Planet!

That's fair, but a disaster movie is just a movie where there is an overarching disaster going on around the story. The alien invasion in Independence day is much different from say Invasion of the Bodysnatchers or The Thing, so it fits both genres of sci-fi aliens and disaster.
